The Hull Identification Number (HIN) is usually a 12- or fourteen-character serial amount that uniquely identifies a boat. The HIN is analogous to the VIN on a car.

The initial three digits are the Producer’s Identification Code (ex. Boat brand name for instance Sea Ray, Meridian, etcetera.). The four digits following that are definitely the manufacturer’s serial quantity for your boat. The 3rd and 4th digits in the finish will be the date of manufacture.
